ACT Success Continues! Cobb Outscores State and National Peers

October 16, 2026 — Cobb students are continuing to demonstrate their college and career readiness, with the Class of 2026 earning ACT scores that once again exceeded state and national averages.
Cobb Schools once again outpaced the state and national averages on the ACT, a distinction that comes just after Cobb students soared past their peers on the SAT.
With an average composite score of 23.0 out of a possible 36 points, Cobb students topped the Georgia average of 20.9 by 2.1 points and the national average of 19.2 by 3.8 points.

Five students in the graduating class of 2026 earned a perfect 36 out of 36 points, which is an exceptional accomplishment. Campbell and Wheeler each had two students reach this outstanding milestone, joined by one student from Walton.
Wheeler led the district with an average composite ACT score of 28.0, followed by Walton at 26.3 and Lassiter at 25.5.
Cobb students averaged 22.4 in English, 22.6 in math, 24.0 in reading, and 24.0 in science, exceeding the Georgia and national averages.
Hillgrove, Lassiter, Osborne, and Pebblebrook each improved their average score compared to 2025. In total, 11 Cobb high schools finished above both the state and national averages.
These achievements build on Cobb Schools’ continued success and reflect the district’s commitment to providing students with a strong foundation for success in the classroom and beyond.
“Results like these show what happens when we let our teachers focus on what they do best—teaching our kids. Our students deserve classrooms focused on learning, not distractions, and I'm proud of the way we support our teachers every day," said Cobb Schools Board Chair Randy Scamihorn.
In Cobb, the recent record-breaking 90.9% graduation rate is further proof that the hard work from teachers, students, and families is paying off.
