Hurricane Isaias weather update

October 9, 2026 —  Due to anticipated impacts from Hurricane Isaias, all Cobb Schools extracurricular activities and athletics scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10, are canceled.

The National Weather Service forecasts heavy rain, strong winds, and possible tornadoes across north and central Georgia. We’re making this decision now to give families and staff time to adjust their plans and prepare. We’re especially mindful of students who drive themselves to activities and want to help them avoid traveling in potentially hazardous conditions.

What families can expect

  • Friday games and activities: Will go on as scheduled.
  • Saturday cancellations: All extracurricular activities and athletics scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10, are canceled. Coaches and sponsors will share makeup dates as they become available.
  • Monday reminder: Monday, Oct. 12, remains a regularly scheduled digital learning day. This was already on the school calendar and is unrelated to the storm.
  • Further updates: District and school teams will monitor conditions throughout the weekend and communicate any additional changes.
