National Principal's Month: Daniell's Amy Stump

October 20, 2026 — It's not every day that you find someone who's spent 32 years at the same place and still has no plans to slow down, but that's part of what makes Amy Stump so special.

The Daniell Middle School principal has spent more than three decades in Cobb Schools. She has served as Daniell's principal for the past five years, following four years as an assistant principal.

"I love the kids, the relationships, the families, and I love making a positive impact," Principal Stump said.

It's her desire to make a difference that keeps Stump coming back to a place she calls home. As a Wheeler High School graduate, she knows firsthand the impact of a Cobb Schools education and how it helps prepare students for success.

More than three decades later, only a handful of miles separate where Stump's journey began at Wheeler High School from where she's making a difference every day at Daniell Middle School.

At Daniell, that commitment is reflected in a school culture that puts learning first while making school a fun and welcoming place for students and staff.

Whether it's themed dress-up days, impromptu games with students, or fundraisers that get the entire community involved, Principal Stump aims to make school a place where students feel connected.

Each week, Stump meets with eighth-grade students during a lunchtime gathering called Pizza and Perspectives. Over slices of pizza, students have honest conversations with Stump and other staff members about what's going well at school and what could be improved.

"I want students to know their voices matter, not just when we are celebrating them but when we're making decisions to make our school even better," Daniell's principal shared.

When she's not sharing pizza with students, joining in school activities, or leading the Daniell community, this Cobb native enjoys kayaking and spending time outdoors.

Join us in wishing Principal Stump and all principals across the district a happy National Principals Month!
