Pebblebrook JROTC Color Guard Wins State Championship

May 19, 2026 — The Georgia State JROTC Drill Competition was held at Griffin High School in late March, and the female Color Guard team from Pebblebrook High School took first place! The team's commander is Emily Garcia, State flag is Annalei Smith, National Guard flag is Fabiola Hernandez, and State Guard flag is Yoselin Fernandez.
The Color Guard is responsible for presenting and honoring the national colors during ceremonies, competitions, school events, and community functions. This year's Falcon squad was in a rebuilding stage due to three team members graduating in 2025.
"This is the first year this group has competed together," said Pebblebrook Army JROTC teacher Sgt. Maj. (Ret.) Robinette Pryor. "They have been building strong teamwork, trust, and precision through countless morning and afternoon practices, competitions, and community events since October. Over time, they have developed a close bond that clearly shows every time they step onto the floor."
The Falcon state champion team demonstrates discipline, professionalism, precision marching, and respect for military traditions. Each cadet brings unique strengths to the team through leadership, encouragement, discipline, or positivity. Together, they motivate the entire battalion by setting high standards, mentoring younger cadets, and demonstrating what commitment and teamwork look like every day.
At the state competition, the Pebblebrook ladies stood out for their commitment to excellence, attention to detail, teamwork, and pride in representing both their school and community. Their dedication and composure under pressure set them apart during competitions and public appearances.
"What I will remember most about this team is their determination and ability to support one another through both challenges and successes," concluded Coach Pryor. "This was the commander's first time leading and the first time her team had done Color Guard competitively. They are respectful, hardworking, dependable, and driven to succeed."
Congratulations to Coach Pryor and her state champion Color Guard team! Well done, Fabiola, Emily, Annalei, and Yoselin for an exceptional year and performance at states!
