Senior Spotlight: McEachern's Cayley Windham

May 19, 2026 — At McEachern High School, school pride runs deep in the family of Cayley Windham.
With a dad who helped coach sports, a mom who was a dedicated booster volunteer for the school, and two older siblings who both graduated from McEachern, Cayley has been all in on supporting Cobb Schools throughout her life.
"It's just always ran so deep in my family, so being able to attend here for the last four years of my high school career was just really special to me," said Cayley.
Beyond the classroom, Cayley has also made her mark in McEachern athletics.
Whether it's flag football, track and field, or softball, she's been a leader in and out of the classroom throughout her time as a student.
In 2018, Cayley lost her mom to breast cancer, which was a huge blow to a tight-knit family that's been a staple of McEachern for years.
As she prepares to graduate, she carries a necklace with a picture of her mom around her neck and reflects on what this accomplishment would mean to her.
"I'm finally finishing and graduating from McEachern. Also, I'm the youngest. I was her last one, and I just think she would have loved to be here, would have loved to see me graduate. Would have loved to see me walk the stage. And I just wanted this necklace to make sure that she's with me, to make sure that she gets to have the front row seat of me walking the stage and just, again, just a motivational like push, just for me to walk the stage, just for me to know that she would have loved to be here and that she would have loved to see this special moment," said Cayley.
Cayley has accepted a scholarship to Tennessee State University, where she’ll take her game to the next level with the Tigers softball program
